To ensure the privacy of customers, associates, employees and any person in the community with dealings with Southern.IML Pathology is protected at all times.

Policy

Southern.IML Pathology is committed to providing participants with the highest level of customer service. This includes protecting the privacy of participants. Southern.IML Pathology is bound by the Information Privacy Act 2000, Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Health Records Act 2001, which set out a number of principles concerning the protection of personal information.

Southern.IML Pathology only collects information that is relevant and the information that is collected is held securely to prevent security breaches. Personal information held by Southern.IML Pathology may include, but is not limited by, a participants name, date of birth, country of birth, language spoken, disability status, indigenous status, current and previous address, telephone numbers, email address, credit card details, occupational, education achievement, previous and/or current employment details.

Please note: If a participant chooses not to provide us with personal information, we may not be able to provide services.

Southern.IML Pathology is careful to protect privacy of our customers and the personal information provided is protected. Southern.IML Pathology takes all reasonable steps to ensure the information given is protected from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Southern.IML Pathology uses personal information only for the purpose that it is provided and we do not divulge any personal or health information to a third party for any reason other than the primary purpose for its collection or for purposes specified, or with the consent of the individual or as required by law.

Southern.IML Pathology uses personal information only for the purpose that it is provided and is only given to other parties in special circumstances where permitted by legislation or where the participant agrees to disclosure.
